The Administrator Editions: Empowering with Data

Literary Companion® represents the next generation of curriculum-based educational technology: a learning and instructional tool that also features substantial data-mining capabilities for school-, district-level administrators.

LC provides each level of administration with real-time access to assessment data in vocabulary, reading-comprehension, and writing:

• The School Edition provides real-time access to assessment data for student, class, and grade.
   
• The District Edition provides much of the same real-time access to assessment data found in the School Edition, along with the ability to mine comparative data across all schools in the district.

In addition, during the '09-'10 school year, AcademicMerit will be working with selected districts throughout the U.S. to pilot an online-scoring system that will effectively turn Literary Companion into a common-assessment vehicle.

In these ways, LC is designed to enhance student performance by enabling administrators to gather the quantifiable data they need in order to improve the quality of instruction.
