AcademicMerit Announces LC Assessments™

AcademicMerit announced today the development of LC Assessments™, an online vehicle for administering common assessments in reading comprehension and writing that provides a curriculum-neutral complement to Literary Companion’s curriculum-based assessments. With this service, which is currently in beta testing and will be launched in time for the ’10-’11 school year, teachers can choose from among a library of short stories, poems, and non-fiction pieces, each of which is accompanied by a set of reading-comprehension questions and a writing prompt. Student essays submitted through LC Assessments are scored by AcademicMerit using the same double-blind, independent system as those submitted through Literary Companion.
