Pricing

Literary Companion® is available via annual subscription to public schools, private schools, and home-schools, based on per-student pricing. Every subscription provides full access to the Administrator, Teacher, and Student Editions, including the complete library of literary texts.

In addition, beginning with the '10-'11 school year, teachers using Literary Companion will have the optional capability of submitting their students final essays for each title in the library for double-blind, independent scoring by AcademicMerit, thereby providing a statistically valid common assessment in writing (to complement the scores in vocabulary and reading comprehension).

LC Assessments™ is an online vehicle for administering common assessments in reading comprehension and writing that provides a curriculum-neutral complement to Literary Companions curriculum-based assessments. Available to all public schools, private schools, and home-schools, its use is priced on the number of student essays submitted.

With this service, teachers can choose from among a library of short stories, poems, and non-fiction pieces, each of which is accompanied by a set of reading-comprehension questions and a writing prompt. Student essays submitted through LC Assessments are scored by AcademicMerit using the same double-blind, independent system as those submitted through Literary Companion.
